Are you a Monkey?

The Three Monkeys

Those three monkeys are becoming my “go to” for a better understanding of our time. The younger generation may not know what these pre-human ancestor “of theirs" are doing, except on a text meme, but we do….or don’t we?

I would like to take you on a very brief journey of my take of those who see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil. And ask yourself, “Am I just another monkey or have I evolved to the realm of truth and action?”

Thanks for spending time with me, and as always, when you think of natural stone, think Perfect Granite Solutions. We would be happy to serve you and help you with all your home and business issues.

Let’s Monkey around!

By Mark Ortiz, NATURAL STONE PROFESSIONAL/NOVICE BLOGGER

The three wise monkeys represent the moral message of not looking at, listening to, or saying anything evil, as well as to be morally upright in the face of any evil. However, the proverb is sometimes used sarcastically to those who turn a blind eye to something morally or legally wrong. As if by pretending not to see the wrongdoing, they will not be held accountable for it.

How perfect, because I’m the most sarcastic person I know, therefore I will use that translation and build this newsletter about  turning a blind eye to something morally or legally wrong.

SEE NO EVIL

Everyone knows there are serious evils in the world, because we actually see it on  24/7 cable news, YouTube, and instagram. They are all direct prisms of our realities we can view with our own eyes. It’s as if there’s a purposeful attempt to show us evil-like images, but for what? I can’t read their minds, but I can observe the outcome of these images.  The outcome is desensitization, apathy and acquiescing.  Basically it means to me that our culture becomes the monkey with hands over his eyes, not caring to properly see it as abnormal or wrong. Seeing is believing, but is what is seen, true?

I’m sure some of your are questioning my picture of Mr and now, (Mrs) Levine, a pediatrician and serves as the United States assistant secretary for health, because HE is dressed in commonly referred to as ‘women's clothing'. I follow my wife shopping for hours in the mall and I cannot remember a time when I was in the mens section and saw anything closely related to this!  Hey, I’m all about personal freedoms, and maybe there are a couple guys reading this who have a pair of stilettos in their closet, be that it may, but when our ‘influential’ leaders call this “normal” or “good” for the youth in our society, without our adult debate on it, I beg you to consider if your eyes are closed.

HEAR NO EVIL

We don’t hear evil anymore, because we tune it out. We just cover our ears. We’re sick of hearing about it. We don’t want to hear what corruptible, political, state and religious leaders are saying. They are promoting blatant lies and deception; and we just choose not to listen to them. Some of us only want to micro-dose and hear ‘positive’ vibrations, the ones that make us feel good inside and create harmony with creation. I get you. Their noise is exhausting and often foolish. BUT, you must continue to hear the BS, so you can rebuke it when the time is right. The lies are running full speed ahead towards your home, your schools, and all nations. Be aware. Don’t put your head in the sand no matter how much better it ‘feels’.  Listen to opposing views, consider the facts, be open-minded to other thoughts. Come to conclusions based on time and tested principles that matter to you and your friends. Sometimes ask yourself, "Am what I'm seeing true, and should I investigate it a little more?"

Here’s a piece of an article written July 2022…

“Back in June of 2020, Prince Charles foolishly launched #TheGreatReset, tweeting out: ‘As we move from rescue to recovery, therefore, we have a unique, but rapidly shrinking, window of opportunity to learn lessons and reset ourselves on a more sustainable path. It is an opportunity we have never had before and may never have again. We must use all the levers we have at our disposal, knowing that each and every one of us has a vital role to play.

And then later followed it up with:‘#TheGreatReset initiative is designed to ensure businesses and communities ‘build back better’ by putting sustainable business practices at the heart of their operations as they begin to recover from the coronavirus pandemic.”  spectator.com.au/2022/07/prince-charles-great-reset/

Hmmm, I wonder who else in our elitist global power structures who feel and think the same way as "King" Chuck and Professor Schwab?

SPEAK NO EVIL

There's a price to pay for us who have big mouths and are not afraid of the backlash of speaking out. But we also need the quiet methodical rational truth ‘slayer’ to confront the BS. It’s ok to say to someone, “Hey, I have nothing against you personally, but I do disagree with your premise or your facts and I would like the opportunity to tell your what I think. Are you open-minded to hear another point of view?”   I think that get’s you closer than ripping into someone, saying, “You are a big moron who deserves everything you get!”  Now, if that’s what you are saying to me, then I know you really want what’s best for others and actually think I’m the big problem in society.  I wouldn't mind hearing your comments below. Please keep it clean ;)

Here is a small portion of an article regarding the “free-speech silencers” keeping you from saying what you think. Remember, free speech is for everyone, not just the ones you agree with.

September 2017, the University of California at Berkeley, home of the 1960s Free Speech Movement, was slated to host a “Free Speech Week,” featuring the alt-right provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos. The event was eventually canceled by its sponsors, who cited “extraordinary pressure and resistance, if not outright hostility,” from the university’s administration. A Berkeley chalk artist perfectly articulated the sentiments of the free-speech opponents when he wrote, without irony, “Free Speech Kills.” I am moved to agree that free speech does indeed kill, but in a very different manner from what its opponents have in mind: it kills stupidity, sloth, corruption, small-mindedness, pride, overconfidence, and self-righteousness. It embarrasses, disrupts, and exposes—and therein lies its real offense to the cadres of academic administrators, who have, in the last half-century, become the single most powerful component of campus cultures.  https://www.city-journal.org/free-speech-crisis

In this day and age, when we speak out, we are called names, such as, insensitive, racist, homophobic, extreme, baby-killers and the like.  Because we don’t want to be identified with those deprecating comments, we shrink back and keep our hand over our mouths. This must not be. Don’t silence yourself. Pick your battles, but be prepared to battle the inconsistencies in the deception all around us. Have you forgotten your first American right...

First Amendment

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom speech, or the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

AM I A MONKEY?

Am I that silent guy who truly minds my own business, or the one who argues my point to my loved ones, who really don't want to hear my point of view anyways, or complains but doesn't do anything about it?  Am I the one who doesn't take the time to see the true evils and deceptions in our society, and un-willing to peacefully hear the opposite opinions of my friends, or speak out a meaningful and respectful argument to others with opposite views?  Am I the monkey?

Evil people, dressed in self-righteous clothing will do all they can to silence the lambs, take away your freedoms or your power to speak and fight for your rights. They are relentless and will not quit, no matter what. No matter what side of the isle you identify with, all freedom fighters must agree to secure our freedoms against the elite tyranny. Decide how you will make a small or big difference in your sphere of your world. Be brave, be courageous, be caring, be a change-maker.  If not, what's the alternative?

Conclusion

If I can be any more honest here.  I am a little concerned about the state of our country and the world. I'm not surprised or shocked, for this has been predicted and/or prophesied beforehand, but my concern is how it will impact my family and friends in the next few decades I’m alive. And of course, the most innocent victims of evil people, those too young to defend themselves. I'm doing my best to prepare for problems provisionally, but, at times, I'm still feeling unprepared or powerless. Sometimes, I sense fear in my thoughts, but keeping my faith in the promises of the Lord, who is my rock; and I believe He'll be there for you too. Decide what you can do in this time of uncertainty and likely foreseeable challenges. I hope this newsletter made you think a bit more about what you can do, while we are in  the calm before the storm. Storms happen, are you prepared?

May your journey be blessed and thanks for listening.

Until next time,

Mark Ortiz
